We have a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial sales leader to join Backbase, as we continue our expansion in Asia, in a Regional VP Sales ASEAN and India position.

Backbase offers an omni-channel platform, recognized by industry analysts Gartner, Forrester and Ovum, that empowers financial institutions to accelerate their digital transformation and effectively compete in a digital-first world.

We are on a mission to create a positive impact on the lives of millions of end-users and are already the backbone of over 100 banks across the globe (HSBC, Deutsche Bank, RBC) as well as part of the day to day banking experience of over 50 million people.

It can be a tough process and that is why we need you to help us to up our game in winning strategic financial institution clients over and to build a stronger Backbase in Asia.
  • Your background includes 10+ years solid and consistent track record in full-cycle enterprise solutions sales including negotiating high-value, multi-year deals.
  • You are a sales leader who has shown results at growth-stage enterprise SaaS companies.
  • You have successfully been building, scaling and leading high functioning, international sales teams.
  • You have a high level of comfort and confidence to communicate and sell into C-Level.
  • You are a team-player that thrives in helping others succeed; you require little supervision and are comfortable with ambiguity.
  • You possess the mental fortitude to get things done when the solution is less than clear; you are a problem solver.
  • You respect your time and that of others; you deliver exactly what you promise.
  • You have preferably experience and network within the FSI.

As Regional VP Sales ASEAN and India at Backbase, you are a pioneer with a strong strategic vision on how to drive sales initiatives in your region. You master building and guiding a team, and leading by example you motivate them and make sure they are capable of delivering world class results from prospect to close.
This role is a combination of strategic thinking, team management and pure hands-on hunting to ensure you hit the critical success measurements: revenue achieved and satisfied & reference-able customers.
You will work alongside with your peers in Asia, Europe and Americas, and collaborate closely with the global team, including a tight-knit team of pre-sales engineers.

SALES 

For the size of the organization (850+ people), we have a rather small Global Sales team, counting around 60 Sales Representatives in 11 offices across the world. Our SVP of Sales (located in Amsterdam HQ) is leading the team and strategy. Together with Regional Sales Directors and their teams of Account Executives and Business Development Representatives, they are responsible for achieving the yearly revenue and customer acquisition goals. 

The majority of the Sales team is based in our Amsterdam HQ but we also have small local sales teams based in the US ( Atlanta & Princeton), Frankfurt, Mexico, Dubai, Singapore, Japan, India and Australia which helps us to be closer and stay relevant to the clients in the area.

We officially opened our Singapore office in November 2018, strengthening our presence in the APAC region. 

Located just a block from the Singapore River bay, our office is located in one of the co-working spaces in the city center. We are based in a vibrant area within walking distance to China Town and Raffles Place. From the small stores to a number of authentic restaurants and cafes, there’s excitement and hustle in the district. 

Already sold on it? Well, we’ll just make it a bit better. The office is easily accessible by public transport:  bus and MRT stops are just a few minutes away.
