With your expertise, you lead and deliver full lifecycle product/project delivery across a number of initiatives/organisations, identifying improvements to the design methodology where required. As a senior member of the Design guild, you build strong relationships with complementary disciplines (Front-end and Product in particular) and helping to educate non-designers on UX best practice. You may also manage and coach team members within the team or discipline as well as support their career development.
7+ years experience in Product/Service/UX/UI design in a product company, consulting firm, or agency. You have overseen multiple product launches at different phases of the product lifecycle
2+ years experience in people management
2+ years experience in Fintech and a passion for banking solutions
Experience in designing products for APAC users, especially within South and Southeast Asia
Expertise across a broad range of skills including, design, research, design strategy, and facilitation
Fluent understanding of Material design guidelines, Apple HIG, and Atomic design
Expert in working with design systems with tools such as Figma
Outstanding portfolio demonstrating excellence in thought and execution
Clear and confident communication and presentation skills in English and preferably one other APAC language
Create and maintain strong relationships with the senior stakeholders and peers across Backbase and with Customers
Have good influencing skills with the ability to sell design ideas and recommendations within the department
Willingness to travel and work with customers on location

Within a multicultural company, you will be joining a dynamic team of UX designers, UX researchers, product designers and the wider design community within Backbase. Within Customer Success, you will work with various roles (Project Managers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Developers) to successfully implement Backbase solutions.
As this role also relies heavily on your consulting skills, you will advise customers on all aspects of User Experience; from branding and visual design to experience design and information architecture. Beyond your design knowledge, your broader understanding of the dynamics of building and releasing software on a large scale will help you as you navigate conversations with your team and customers.
In your daily project, you will be the source of design knowledge for all Backbase Apps and the Backbase Design System. Through a deep understanding of our UX patterns and UI components, you will guide customers and drive decisions towards product adoption in every sense (apps, journeys, UX patterns, etc.)
As a people manager, you’ll help individuals grow their abilities while aligning them with company goals. You constantly help to grow the team to support the organization.
You also get the chance to help drive more complex projects by using design tools and methodologies (segments, personas and other research collateral) and by partnering up with peers in research and development. Hands-on implementation of omnichannel, Retail, SME, and Wealth banking product solutions across web, Android, and iOS for banks and financial institutions in APAC
Conduct and advocate for design and research activities, including wireframing, user testing, design facilitation etc.
Lead UX and communicate design strategies, theories, best practices, vision, and design principles to support stakeholder decision-making
Communicate and work collaboratively with cross-functional team members and agile squad
Oversee resourcing and work allocation for the department ensuring roadmaps or customer projects can be delivered
Contribute to the global UX chapter and strategic design initiatives. You are the go-to person for a particular domain and process within the organization
