  • You have passion for and experience in sales and business development, and have experience in partnering with Strategy/Digital Consulting firms and IT Services companies in the ANZ region at a fast-growing technology company. You have the ability to set clear targets and growth plans, and objectives to achieve those.
  • You are digital-minded and tech-savvy, with a strong understanding of the value of digital engagement in the context of financial services. You are smart, consultative, with an ability to understand partner business drivers and to establish buy-in at and influence all levels - from executive leadership and sales management to delivery leads and functional/technical architects.
  • You have approximately eight (8) to ten (10) years of overall experience, including a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience; prior direct experience of financial services is preferred, but not a must-have.
  • You have exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • You are currently living in, and eligible to work in, Australia.

As Partner Manager, you will have a significant impact on Backbase’s growth and success in the region. You will drive Backbase’s expansion across ANZ by working with existing Backbase partners as well as identifying and developing new partner relationships. The ideal candidate will have significant experience generating new enterprise business through partners as well as growing the partner ecosystem itself. The candidate will therefore proactively work with the Backbase direct Sales and Customer Success teams. You will report to the Head of Partner Business, APJ.

In particular, you will

  • Work closely with Backbase Partner and Sales Management to ensure partner coverage in ANZ by creating new partner relationships and growing existing ones, from Strategy and Digital Consulting firms to IT Services and Technology Partners.
  • Cultivate future projects and identify new opportunities in the partner client base; support strategy and pipeline management with regional sales leaders and confirm partner capabilities prior to deals signed; track status of sales cycles and implementation projects of partners’ (prospective) customers.
  • Facilitate partner and Backbase sales team alignment, target account nomination, and opportunity planning to drive joint license (Backbase) & service (partner) wins; achieve license targets as agreed with respective partners.
  • Manage the partner development lifecycle and day-to-day business relationship between Backbase and key strategic partners; communicate consistently with partners throughout the contract lifecycle, escalating important issues where needed to support business development aligned Sales and Partner Management.
  • Help partners build (pre-)sales capacity and capability on the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform; drive training and certification within the partner ecosystem in close cooperation with Backbase Academy, including identification of delivery and competence needs and alignment with Backbase Customer Success Teams and Academy.

    For the size of the organization (1200+ people), we have a rather small Global Partner Business team, counting around 15 members across the world. Our VP of Partner Business (located in Amsterdam HQ) is leading the team and strategy. Together with Regional Sales VPs, Regional Customers Success VPs and their teams, they are responsible for achieving the yearly revenue and customer success goals.
