The job in short
Seasoned frontend development expert who works with our prospective customers to prove out the capabilities of the Backbase Platform in a dynamic, presales setting that requires excellent interpersonal skills in addition to technical prowess.
Meet the job
During projects you take on the expert role for anything related to the frontend and own it. You deliver jaw-dropping, award-worthy frontend experiences. You push the envelope when implementing modern UI/UX patterns, across the board, including motion design and animations. You love clean, maintainable code. Collaboration is key within Backbase so you know how to clearly share your vision and ideas to developers, designers and business stakeholders. Our customers are mostly banks, so your experience building bank or other financial experiences is highly valued.
But it’s not all about the tech. This particular role is on our world-class Presales team. We work with customers before they become customers - so making a great impression is essential. Your ability to act confidently and professionally will be as important as your ability to write elegant code. If you prefer to spend your days isolated in a cube with just you and your machine - let me be super clear about this - this is not the job for you.
In presales, things happen fast. The pressure is always on, and customer expectations are sky high. You will regularly encounter situations that demand prompt, yet smart action. It will be up to you to design and deliver solutions. Your assignments will include, among other things, building custom demos, delivering technical presentations, and working on Proof-of-Concept projects delivering real software. Assignments typically last a few days to a few weeks, and its typical to juggle several at once. If you value spontaneity and variety in your job, this will be a great environment for you. The one thing you will never be is bored!
Our (potential) customers are spread all over the world, and so we often travel work with them directly and make the best impression. It’s a great opportunity to see the world and build important professional relationships. Most of your travel will be in the US and Canada, but there will almost certainly be a few international trips per year as well. On average you can expect to travel around 50% of the time.
