As a Business Improvement Manager you are responsible for improving Business Support related services &
processes, with an important focus on the Employee Experience: where and how can we improve in order to increase
our Employee satisfaction. You initiate and manage projects, you guide the Business Support teams in their project
based work and you understand that communication and bringing people together is key.
Meet the job
As a Business Improvement Manager, you continuously focus on improving Business Support processes to ensure
an optimal service to the different Backbase departments and Backbase employees. You work in close collaboration
with the Business Support departments (Recruitment, HR, Legal, Facility, Finance, Compliance) and you ensure
communication to and collaboration with the other Backbase departments. Example projects are: improving the
Onboarding experience, improving the Candidate experience, Global expansion projects in order to open new
Backbase offices globally, implementing new software/ tooling to automate & improve processes like interview
planning & CV screening.
Project management: You give project based guidance to the different Business Support teams and you manage the
cross departmental projects yourselves, whereby creating overview, stakeholder management and communication
are key. Consultancy: You analyse complex cases & facilitate deepdive sessions with the teams to find the best
solutions. You know how to analyse processes and tackle complexity to create clear business processes.
Management: You are manager for the Business Improvement team (currently 1 Business Improvement Specialist),
where you create an environment to grow and work independent on the different projects. You are part of the CFO MT
where you will focus on the cross departemental improvements.
You can handle chaos and you love to create overview. You know how to make and explain complex things more
simple. You can demonstrate strong analytical and problem- solving skills and you are hands-on and pragmatic. You
thrive in changing work environments and can easily adapt as the business evolves. As a Business Improvement
Manager you are aware of new methodologies and market directions in terms of Project Management, bringing new
approaches to the company and brainstorm ways of implementing them.

●Strong background in Project Management and Business (process) improvement
● Experience in different styles of Project management, Agile way of working & Business process modelling
● Familiar with Employee Experience (initiatives)
● Experience in supporting Senior Leadership
● Master degree
● Fluency in English , written and spoken
● Preferably fluency in Dutch, written and spoken
● Minimum of 5 years work experience as a Program/ Project Manager and/or Consultancy
● Hands-on and pragmatic
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Clear & engaging communication
